Privacy Policy

Man’s Black Book care about your privacy. We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information with any other company including those concerned with marketing. That’s just not what we do and what we’re about. If you’re still in any doubt, this Privacy Policy sets out what personal information we will keep about you, when and why we collect it, how we use it, how we keep it safe and the limited situations where we may disclose it to others. This effective date of this policy is 05/21/2018.

We might collect the following from you:

Your contact information, including your email address
Your demographic information including the postal area you live in, your interests and preferences
Other information that’s relevant to customer surveys you may contribute to or any offers we have available

The information we collect is so that we can understand you better so that we can provide you with the service you deserve.

Also, we require this information:

To improve our services and products
To keep internal records (which we never sell on to anyone)
So that we can send you promotional emails about things that may be of interest to you and special offers, if you’ve not opted out of receiving such communication from us
So that we can contact you for market research purposes. It’s unlikely that we will do this but, if the need arises, we may contact you by email, phone or mail and might go on to use this info to customise our site to match your interests.

When someone visits our site (www.mansblackbook.com) we use Google Analytics. This is so that we can collect information about the behaviour patterns of our visitors. By doing this, we’ll be able to see how many people have visited the various pages on our website. However, there’s no need to worry about this – this information is only available to us anonymously. We do not allow Google or anyone else to find out the identities of anyone who logs on to our website. We’re interested in you of course, but that information is your own business.

If you want to sign up to our monthly newsletter, we’ll collect some personal information from you so that we can tell you about the things you’ve asked us to inform you about and so that we can contact you if we need to obtain further information from you. We also collect this information to make sure you’re happy and satisfied with our service and to make sure our records are accurate internally. Again – we will never sell or rent out your personal information to anyone else.

We are committed to keeping the information we keep about you safe and secure and, so that we can prevent any baddies from accessing your data, we have electronic systems in place to protect it.

You’ve likely heard about cookies already. If not, they’re a tiny file that’s placed on your computer’s hard drive, should you be in agreement for that to be added, that is. If you agree to cookies, the file is added and the cookie then helps us to analyse the traffic to our site.  The cookie can then allow a web application to tailor itself to your needs, interests, likes and dislikes by recalling information about your individual preferences.

We will use cookies to find out which pages are being accessed on our site so that we can analyse this and improve our website. We promise that we’ll only use this information for statistical purposes and, should we download this data for analysis, it will be removed from our system when we’ve done with it.

By agreeing to cookies, this won’t give us access to any information about you other than what you choose to share. We won’t be able to access your computer either.

By the way, you have the option to either accept or decline cookies when you visit our site. Some web browsers may automatically accept cookies but you can usually modify your settings so that this isn’t possible. Bear in mind that if you decline cookies from our site, it may prevent you from taking advantage of everything our full site has to offer you.

Our website will contain links to other websites that are relevant and that may be of interest to you. For example, we may direct you a site where you can buy a product that we have featured. At Man’s Black Book, we only ever include links to reputable sites but you should bear in mind that, if you use these links, we don’t have any control over that website. As we say, this shouldn’t be an issue considering we only link up to trusted and secure sites. But, when you do visit them, you should know that the site won’t be covered by this policy. They should have their own and you should check it out before engaging in the site if you have any concerns in this regard.

If you want, you can restrict what we can do in terms of collecting and using your personal information. For example, you can change your mind if you have agreed previously to opting in to us using your personal information for marketing purposes (just drop us a line on our ‘contact us’ page if that’s the case and we’ll get that sorted). Also, if we ask that you fill out a form on our website they’ll be a box included so that you can opt out of us using the information for marketing purposes (it’ll only be us that uses it but, if you’re not comfortable with that – no problem).

We will never, ever sell, rent or distribute your personal information to third parties unless we have permission from you to do this (or, on very rare occasions, we are ordered to do this under law).

It is your legal right to request a copy of any information we hold about you and we’ve got no problem giving it to you. We will never charge you a fee for this. If you’d like this information, just drop us a line on our ‘Contact Us’ page. Once we’ve given you this information, let us know if we’ve got any of your personal information wrong and we’ll get to work fixing it as soon as possible.
